Even after gathering quite a collection of tango movies, there are always some missing. Some are not available commercially, and that makes it hard. If anyone knows how to get any of these, I would be happy to know!

Thanks to tango commuter for making me aware of the last two.

There is another documentary film entitled, “Maestros Milongueros” by Bebe Kamin made in 2006. I haven’t seen it yet, but it was shown last Sunday before a milonga. I read the announcement in a magazine. It includes many dancers of Buenos Aires.

Maestros Milongueros was presented at the Casa de Gardel Museum tonight. The director Bebe Kamin didn’t stay around, or I would have asked him why this excellent documentary is being so carefully guarded. Tango dancers around the world should be listening to Gerardo Portalea, Pupi Castello, Roberto Colombo, Margarita Serrentes, Carlos Gavito among others who were recorded talking, dancing and teaching during their classes with the students of the Academia del Estilos de Tango Argentino in 2004.

There was publicity in La Nacion and the city’s Cultural Agenda; I knew about it from a news update from Tito Palumbo of B.A. Tango and had it on my agenda for months.

The documentary has ENGLISH subtitles. No more than 25 arrived for the FREE viewing. I knew one other person in the audience, someone from the milongas.
