Stuff without the stuff
2009 April 26
There was a discussion on the tango dj mailing list a while ago about people wanting “stuff without the stuff”. In other words, tango (dance) without tango (music). An oxymoron, one would think.
Stephen Brown put it so well with his little story:
A number of years ago, I was in a coffee shop that offered coffee prepared many different ways. One of the ways was decaffeinated coffee with artificial sweetener and artificial cream. They called the result “Why Bother?”

I like my coffee strong, organic, from Colombia. With real sugar and heavy whipping cream – the yellowish kind. It reminds me of the “cafe’ doble con crema” I drank all the time in Buenos Aires.
Thanks for commenting, Alex!
I prefer 100% Arabica Italian style espresso. If with milk, then as cappuccino with cane sugar
I remember searching for a “real” cappuccino in Buenos Aires; the pieces did not fall in place until I started to drink the excellent café con leche, the local variant.
