Thanks for commenting Modern Tanguera! It is an interesting dilemma. Is it because he doesn't bother, or because he dares not?

I really appreciate that first quote from Chicho. Interestingly, having studied other dances my entire life, I feel like the past 2.5 years of tango have been the first time I have really *danced* (at least in the sense of real presence, emotion, and immersion in what I am doing).

I am frustrated by some of the leaders I dance with who model their style after Chicho and lose the dance in all of the steps. One very talented leader was amazing the first time I danced with him, but lately I feel like he doesn't bother really dancing, really connecting with his followers (or at least with me). Interesting dilemma.

I'll have to take a look at the whole interview. Thanks for pointing it out!
